WRITE THE SCOPE IN WORK ORDER

From an open wall to a painted room.

A repair estimate needs a starting condition and a stopping point. Walk through these decisions before comparing proposals.

Prepare the room-by-room scope ↗
  1. Readiness

    What is ready to close?

Resolve the cause of recurring damage. Reconstruction follows completed mitigation and a readiness review; behind-wall work and required inspections come before closure. Have suspect materials assessed before disturbance.

  2. Repair or replacement

    How much board changes?

Separate sound retained board from damaged or removed sections. Record the repair area, cut height and affected wall lengths.

  3. Transitions

    Where does new meet retained?

Identify the joints at existing walls, ceilings and trim. Compare a local texture blend with a finish carried to a corner or across the wall.

  4. Decoration

    Where does the painting stop?

Specify the finish, primer and repainting boundary. Include room protection and cleanup, with painting included or assigned separately.

FROM NEW BOARD TO THE FINISH

What happens before the paint?

Joint finishing brings new board together. Lower-wall reconstruction meets the surface you are keeping. Include both the repair and its final coating in the estimate.

THE REST OF THE ROOM

Ceilings, texture and the finish.

Bring overhead work and surface changes into the same room plan. Each service has a checklist for the estimate.

CLOSE TO HOME

Where do you need drywall work?

Choose your area for repairs, new board and ceiling or wall finishing.

YOUR ROOM / YOUR FINISH BOUNDARY

Bring the room list and stopping points.

Describe the repair, replacement board and surfaces you want to retain. Include the texture and painted boundary so the provider can discuss the complete scope.

What happens after I send my request?

We review the request and share project and contact details directly with a service provider with your permission. The provider discusses the estimate, work agreement and scheduling. A request does not confirm an appointment.

What comes before disturbing older surfaces?

Have suspect materials assessed before scraping, sanding or removal. Appearance alone cannot identify asbestos. The findings guide the method.
